How to Prepare for Your Cleaning Appointment

Get Organized
Before the cleaner arrives make sure the spaces you want cleaned are organized. Every item should be in its home. Clothes, toys, pet toys, paperwork, jewelry, small electronics, dishes, food and other miscellaneous items should be put away.
Being organized ahead of time maximizes time spent cleaning. Surfaces are more available and it provides a safe environment for the cleaner and your items. It also helps you to know where your things are. If it is left to the cleaner to pick up items these items may be placed in unexpected areas. Also your privacy is protected when your documents are put away. Confusion is avoided if anything should go missing - you will be sure it wasn't the cleaner.

Pets
It is best to put pets in a designated room or spot that they can stay in for the entire time the cleaner is there - even if your pets are friendly. It is much safer for the pet and the cleaner. Also this will help the cleaners to do their job more thoroughly.
Inspect
Before we come, conduct an inspection of your home to note areas that need repair. You will have greater peace of mind knowing that any repairs you see after your cleaning were not caused by your cleaner. In addition, knowing about these areas before hand will allow you to consult with your cleaning professional on possible solutions and cautions to think about.
Special Cleaning
Make a note of any areas in the home that need extra special attention. These could include pet stains, mold or residue build up, stains caused by spills or dirt tracked in, or any other areas of concern. Do not hesitate to talk to the cleaner about these early on so that the proper products and procedures can be used for the most effective cleaning.
Access to Home
If you aren't planning on being there for the cleaning appointment be sure to communicate well in advance of your appointment any arrangements for accessing your home. This would include where to get the keys, alarm codes, door codes. This will eliminate frustration and confusion and is greatly appreciated. If you will be home but have a certain door or side of the home you prefer us to enter through, please let us know.
Time
Allow enough time for the cleaner to do the jobs you've asked for. If you aren't sure about how much time to allow, feel free to ask. After the cleaner has become aware of everything that needs to be done they will be able to give you an estimate on how long it will take.
